Images From Carlisle Indian Industrial School

With the digitization of Carlisle Indian Industrial School information thanks to Dickinson College of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, a treasure trove of images is now available on the project’s website.
The college’s Community Studies Center (CSC) and its Archives and Special Collections Department put the project together in 2013 and since August of last year they have been sending teams of researchers to the National Archives to scan and digitize information relating to CIIS.
Here are just 12 images from the many pages available on the project’s website. View them all at CarlisleIndian.Dickinson.edu/Images.

To Veronica Brown

Veronica, we adult adoptees are thinking of you today and every day. We will be here when you need us. Your journey in the adopted life has begun, nothing can revoke that now, the damage cannot be undone. Be courageous, you have what no adoptee before you has had; a strong group of adult adoptees who know your story, who are behind you and will always be so.
